Religion: which religions can be found in this country?

The Australian Constitution guarantees full freedom of religion. So there is are a variety of religions that can be found there, but Australia is still considered as a Christian country. But the fast growing religions are Buddhism and Islam. More than one million people in Australia have no religion. The Original inhabitants of Australia had their own religion.

About 75% of the people in Australia are Christian. One of the most visible signs of the historical importance of Christianity to Australia is the prominence of churches in most Australian towns and cities. Churches in Australia with the largest number of members are the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Church and the Uniting Church.
The original inhabitants of Australia are the Aborigines. The Aboriginals of Australia has a large number of tribal divisions and language groups and a wide variety of diversity is within cultural practices. There are some similarities between the cultures however. Indigenous Australians' oral tradition and spiritual values are based upon reverence for the land and a belief in this Dreamtime. The Dreaming is at once both the ancient time of creation and the present day reality of Dreaming. There were a great many different groups, each with their own individual culture, belief structure and language. Dreaming is the key aspect of the Aborgines.
The Australian Constitution guarantees full freedom of religion. That’s something that really stands out because there is a diversity of religions.

Sydney Opera House

Sydney Opera House (1957 - 1973) is a masterpiece of late modern architecture. It is admired internationally and proudly treasured by the people of Australia. It was created by a young architect who understood and recognised the potential provided by the site against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Denmark’s Jørn Utzon gave Australia a challenging, graceful piece of urban sculpture in patterned tiles, glistening in the sunlight and invitingly aglow at night. Jorn Utzon died in Copenhagen in November 2008 aged 90.

In its short lifetime, Sydney Opera House has earned a reputation as a world-class performing arts centre and become a symbol of both Sydney and the Australian nation

Australia, Festivals, Aboriginal People In Traditional Dress

The government of Australia has a very poor record when it comes to treatment of its Aboriginal citizens. Indigenous Australians were dispossessed of their land, despised for their culture, and marginalized, abused, and murdered. Perhaps most notorious of all the Australian policies were those that led to what has become known as the Stolen Generations. Under several federal and state programs that continued into the 1970s, the government forcibly removed Aboriginal children from their families and sent them to white families and church-run institutions for cultural reprogramming. A recent national report on the policies found that there was not a single Indigenous family that did not have at least one child taken away. Despite the deliberate genocidal nature of these programs, the government for many years refused to apologize for them. That same hostile attitude toward Aboriginal peoples was reflected in the Australian government’s long and vigorous opposition to the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.
